A child’s small world play is often based around a certain theme depending on the child’s interests such as nature, families, fairies or even a dinosaur world.

You can help by providing everyday items around the house or garden to be transformed to create small world play scenes.

For examples a blue scarf can become a river, an empty box transforms into a home, a shell turns into a washing up bowl!

When they play no two small worlds will ever be the same. Every time it will be a different experience, one which will become more complex as they grow and develop!

If small world play sounds like something your child enjoys, here are some suggestions for adding into their miniature worlds.
